Workshop descriptions
Amazing Arranging - band arrangements for small and large rooms - Philip Percival
In this essential band masterclass we look seriously at using each instrument you have effectively and creatively. What if I only have a flute and guitar? What if I have an orchestra? How do I tell the others in the band what to do? What do I play if no-one tells me what to do? We will look at creating a strong and vibrant lead for singing in churches of any size, style and ability.
Word & Song - what to say before you sing - Lara Goudie
They often make ministers nervous, congregations cringe, and song leaders embarrassed. That's right, we're going to be looking at some top tips for working out what to say - if anything - before a song to make the above three things happen no more! You will get a chance to write song introductions and ask lots of questions.
Music 4 Kids - Six (Surprisingly Simple!) Strategies for Successful Singing - for the musical and non-musical alike! - John Burns
You are invited to spend the afternoon with Johnny Burns as he shares six (surprisingly simple!) suggestions on how to enhance the way you lead singing with children in your kids program. He combines his love of pop and rock music, with his background as a Child Psychologist, to bring a unique approach to kids' worship. This workshop will provide some 'brain food' about what we are trying to do with kids' singing, as well as some practical demonstrations of how Johnny leads signing.
Radical Worship - Jodie McNeill
